As a native Albertan growing up in Edmonton in a family of tradesmen and farmers, I inherited a strong DIY ethic that drives me to this day. My career has been shaped by hands-on construction management experience, technical innovation, and practical problem-solving.

Despite once being called a "luddite" for my preference to solve problems with my hands, I've embraced technology as a tool to enhance—not replace—practical skills. I've spent countless hours watching YouTube tutorials figuring out everything from home renovations to fixing my own car.

My background includes a creative foundation with art school and a brief stint at Parsons School of Design, which gave me a unique perspective on functionality and aesthetics. I'm inspired by great design and the writings of Robert Pirsig, which have shaped my beliefs about quality.
