Copy Writing

Copy writing is the art and science of writing persuasive text that motivates readers to take action—whether that's making a purchase, signing up for a newsletter, or contacting you for more information. Good copywriting speaks directly to your target customer's needs and problems, clearly communicates your value, and guides them toward the next step. From website content to email campaigns to social media posts, effective copy is the foundation of successful marketing.

The Problem

Your website sounds like every other website in your industry. Generic phrases like "quality service," "experienced team," and "customer-focused" fill the space without actually saying anything meaningful.

Clarity Over Cleverness: Don't make customers think. They should immediately understand what you do and why it matters to them. "We help Red Deer plumbers get found on Google" beats "Leveraging synergistic digital strategies to optimize online visibility paradigms."

Specificity Over Generic Praise: Instead of "We provide excellent service," try "We respond to every inquiry within 2 hours and complete most projects in 5 business days." Specificity is believable; generic claims aren't.

Customer-Focused Language: Talk about their problems, not your features. "Spend less time on paperwork" resonates more than "Our proprietary document management system utilizes cloud-based architecture."

Storytelling: As Godin teaches, we're wired for stories. "Three years ago, a client called us at 2 AM with a burst pipe flooding their basement. We were there in 20 minutes" is more powerful than "24/7 emergency service available."
